Singer Tae Jin-ah has announced legal action against individuals who falsely claimed he would appear at a March 1st Independence Day celebration concert organized by YouTuber Jeon Han-gil.
According to entertainment news sources, Tae Jin-ah’s representatives stated: “Claims circulating on Jeon Han-gil’s YouTube channel about Tae Jin-ah performing at the March 1st freedom concert are completely false.”
The agency added that they plan to file defamation charges against entertainment industry contacts who deceived the singer with misinformation about the event’s nature.
Background of the Controversy
Jeon Han-gil announced via his YouTube platform that a commemorative concert would take place on March 2nd at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The promotional materials listed Tae Jin-ah alongside other performers including Vank, Yoon Si-nae, and Jo Jang-hyuk.
Allegations of Deception
According to Tae Jin-ah’s management, an entertainment industry intermediary approached the singer about availability, describing the event simply as a standard concert at the KINTEX venue.
“There was no indication whatsoever that this performance had any political associations,” the agency explained.
Legal Measures Underway
The singer’s representatives emphasized they are preparing legal responses on multiple fronts: against those who misrepresented the event during initial outreach, and against Jeon Han-gil’s YouTube channel for unauthorized use of Tae Jin-ah’s image and likeness in promotional materials suggesting his participation.
“We will take action both for the deceptive recruitment practices and the unauthorized promotional use of the artist’s portrait rights,” the statement concluded.
