‘이준혁X이종석’ 조합이 현실로…‘이섭의 연애X태연한 거짓말’ 실사화 확정

Two beloved Korean novels are heading to the screen, bringing together actors Lee Jong-seok and Lee Jun-hyuk in a unique connected universe. The adaptations of “Lee Seop’s Love Affairs” and “Nonchalant Lies” will unfold as companion series, each telling its own story while sharing the same fictional world.

Author Kim Eun-hee first released these stories as web novels before they gained massive popularity both domestically and internationally. Following their print publication, both works earned critical acclaim and built a devoted fanbase across borders.

What makes these adaptations special?
The two stories exist in the same universe but follow different protagonists. The upcoming series will preserve this “separate yet connected” narrative structure, allowing viewers to experience intertwined storylines.

“Lee Seop’s Love Affairs” centers on a chaotic office romance between opposites: a man who wants to do nothing and a woman who must accomplish everything. The story features Tae Lee-seop, a third-generation heir who excels at everything except romance, and Kang Min-kyung, known as TK Group’s secret weapon for her flawless performance.

Meanwhile, “Nonchalant Lies” follows Tae Jun-seop, the seemingly perfect grandson of TK Group’s chairman, and Yeon Woo-kyung, a copywriter who enters his life. Their romance unfolds against the backdrop of a fierce succession battle within the corporate empire.

Lee Jong-seok and Lee Jun-hyuk will each lead one of the series. The characters they portray are cousins within TK Group, creating a connection that ties both narratives together. Audiences will get to enjoy both office romances while also witnessing a “bromance” as the cousins face off in the competition for corporate control.

Both actors are considered reliable stars across all genres, raising expectations for their performances. The dual nature of their relationship—romantic leads in their own stories and rivals in the shared universe—adds another layer of intrigue.

Production details:
The project brings together three production companies: Bon Factory (known for romance hits like “Lovely Runner” and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”), Ace Factory (behind the “Stranger” series), and Amen Media. The goal is to produce both series simultaneously, with filming expected to begin before year’s end.
