Doosan Bears rediscovered their energy on both offense and defense, reversing their fortunes after just one day. Ahn Jae-seok, making his return to the top squad, announced his comeback with a powerful home run.
On the 29th at Jamsil Stadium, Doosan secured a commanding 4-0 victory over the Samsung Lions in their home matchup during the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League.
Following a heartbreaking 4-5 extra-inning loss the previous night, Doosan bounced back successfully, bringing their season record to 11 wins, 1 draw, and 15 losses. Meanwhile, Samsung—who had just broken a seven-game losing streak after a hard-fought battle—couldn’t maintain momentum and stumbled once again.
Pitching Decided the Outcome
Doosan’s starting pitcher Jack Logue dominated through six innings, allowing only four hits while striking out eight batters and posting a shutout. He earned his second win of the season (against three losses). The bullpen trio of Kim Jung-woo, Yang Jae-hoon, and Lee Young-ha then sealed the team shutout victory.
Ahn Jae-seok Makes His Presence Felt
Called up to the first team that day, Ahn recorded multiple hits including a solo homer in the seventh inning. He also displayed solid defense, injecting vitality into the team on both sides of the ball.
Breaking Through in the Fourth
Doosan broke the deadlock in the bottom of the fourth. After leadoff hitter Cameron reached on an infield single, a throwing error by the opposing catcher created a one-out, runners-on-first-and-third opportunity. Kim Min-seok’s double brought home the opening run, and Yang Seok-hwan’s sacrifice fly added another, making it 2-0.
In the fifth, Cameron delivered a timely hit to tack on one more run. Then in the seventh, Ahn Jae-seok launched a solo shot to center field off Samsung reliever Bae Chan-seung, putting the game out of reach.
Samsung’s Offensive Struggles
Samsung starter Jack O’Loughlin held on for six innings while giving up three runs, but the lineup went silent. The absence of key batters like Koo Ja-wook and Kim Young-woong due to injury once again proved painfully costly.
