Park Hyun-kyung Reaches Career Earnings Milestone

Park Hyun-kyung, competing against world number 3 Kim Hyo-joo, put up a strong fight despite starting three strokes behind. She managed to tie the lead three times with birdies on holes 8, 10, and 16. However, her second shot on the final hole landed in a bunker, resulting in a bogey that prevented a playoff.

At the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship held at Suwon Country Club New Course, Park finished in solo second place with a final round of 3-under 69, posting an 8-under 208 total. Kim Hyo-joo claimed victory at 9-under 207, edging Park by a single stroke.

Park has not won since her eighth career victory at the E1 Charity Open nearly a year ago. This marks her second consecutive runner-up finish, bringing her career total to 11 second-place finishes.

Historic ₩5 Billion Milestone

Despite the growing number of runner-up finishes, Park achieved a significant milestone in KLPGA history. She became the fourth player ever to surpass ₩5 billion in career earnings. With the ₩110 million prize, her career total now stands at ₩5.075 billion earned across 190 tournaments. She also climbed to seventh in this season’s money list.

The other three players who previously reached this mark are Park Min-ji (currently first with ₩6.59 billion), Jang Ha-na (second with ₩5.77 billion), and Park Ji-young (third with ₩5.68 billion).

Many expected Park to join the “₩5 billion club” last season, given her impressive earnings over the previous three years: ₩539 million in 2022, ₩860 million in 2023, and ₩1.13 billion in 2024. However, she earned only ₩607 million in 2025, delaying the milestone. After failing to crack the top 10 in her first four events this season, her recent back-to-back runner-up finishes finally pushed her over the threshold.

Lee Da-yeon is positioned to become the fifth member of this exclusive group, sitting at ₩4.98 billion—just ₩18.7 million away from the mark.
