K-pop group THE BOYZ has filed embezzlement charges against Cha Ga-won, the CEO of their agency One Hundred Label.
According to their legal representatives, nine out of ten members (Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric) recently submitted the complaint. Member New did not participate in this legal action.
The charges fall under special economic crime laws related to embezzlement. This legal move follows the same nine members’ earlier decision to terminate their exclusive contracts with the agency.
Back in February, the members notified One Hundred of their intent to end their contracts, citing unpaid settlement fees as the primary reason. Their legal team claimed that the agency had stopped paying royalties for all activities since July of the previous year.
The agency responded by stating they had been operating at significant financial losses while trying to maintain the group’s activities. They indicated they could not accept the contract termination requests given the circumstances.
Despite the ongoing legal dispute, THE BOYZ will proceed with their scheduled solo concert “INTER-ZECTION” over three days at KSPO Dome in Seoul’s Olympic Park. The members expressed their commitment to fulfilling all confirmed schedules to avoid causing harm to fans, partners, and other third parties involved.
Their legal team emphasized that “the members agreed that innocent parties should not suffer due to this situation” and pledged to carry out previously arranged commitments with full responsibility.
