5인조 신인 보이그룹 제너스, 27일 정식 데뷔

GENUS, a brand-new boy group, will officially launch on the 27th, their management company Just Focus announced.

The lineup includes five talented members: Chanyong, Seoha, Chaehoon, Jaeyoung, and Yuan. Among them, Chanyong serves as the team leader and main dancer, having previously competed on the survival show “Project 7”.

The group’s name comes from “Generation Us”, symbolizing their commitment to building an era together with their fans.

Branding themselves as a “performance-focused idol group”, GENUS has been preparing thoroughly. They began performing in Japan this past January—even before their official debut—to gain valuable stage experience. The group also attracted attention by achieving one million views on their challenge video covering BTS’s track “Hooligan”.

On their debut day, they’ll release the digital single “Sugar Rush”. The agency describes the title track as capturing “the group’s bright, refreshing energy and vibrant spirit” with a catchy melody and upbeat atmosphere.

Starting April 29th—just two days after the single drops—GENUS will embark on an extended performance tour in Japan. The company stated they plan to strengthen their fanbase and presence through Japanese promotions before expanding into diverse activities back home.
