Round 10 K League 1 Highlights
The Korea Professional Football League announced that Masa from Daejeon Hana Citizen earned the top player award for Round 10 of the Hana Bank K League 1.
In the match against Ulsan HD at Munsu Football Stadium, Masa delivered an impressive performance with one goal and one assist, helping his team secure a commanding 4-1 victory. His contribution began in the 16th minute of the first half when he assisted Rubikson’s opening goal. Later, seven minutes into the second half, Masa found the net himself with a sharp left-footed strike.
His aggressive play style and exceptional passing ability were key factors in Daejeon’s success that day.
Daejeon Claims Best Team Honor
Daejeon also received recognition as the Best Team of Round 10. Their away victory over Ulsan marked their first three-goal margin win of the season.
The scoring began with Rubikson in the 16th minute, followed by Jung Jae-hee in the 42nd minute, and Diogo just before halftime. Masa’s goal in the second half sealed the dominant performance. Although Ulsan’s Lee Dong-gyeong scored in the 44th minute of the second half, it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Most Exciting Match: Jeonbuk vs Pohang
The Best Match award went to the thrilling encounter between Jeonbuk Hyundai and Pohang Steelers at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
Jeonbuk took an early lead through Kim Young-bin in the 26th minute, but Pohang’s Lee Ho-jae equalized from the penalty spot in the 40th minute. Kim Ha-joon restored Jeonbuk’s advantage in the 44th minute. The drama continued when Lee Ho-jae converted another penalty in the 21st minute of the second half. The match reached its climax when Kang Sang-yoon scored a dramatic winner just before the final whistle, giving Jeonbuk a 3-2 victory.
Round 9 K League 2 Highlights
Kim Min-woo of Yongin FC captured the MVP award for Round 9 of K League 2.
In the home match against Gimhae FC at Yongin Mir Stadium, Kim recorded one goal and two assists, leading his team to their first-ever victory since the club’s founding. He set up Seok Hyun-jun’s header in the 17th minute, then scored his first goal of the season with a left-footed shot in the 36th minute. He added another assist for Seok Hyun-jun’s second goal four minutes into the second half, contributing significantly to the final 4-1 scoreline.
Yongin’s Historic First Win
Yongin FC also earned the Best Team distinction for Round 9.
Gabriel opened the scoring just two minutes into the match against Gimhae. Seok Hyun-jun and Kim Min-woo added goals in the 17th and 36th minutes respectively, securing victory early. Seok Hyun-jun’s second goal in the second half put the finishing touch on this historic milestone. The victory saw four Yongin players—Seok Hyun-jun, Kim Min-woo, Kwak Yoon-ho, and Hwang Sung-min—named to the Round Best 11.
Thrilling Encounter: Suwon vs Busan
The Best Match for Round 9 went to the clash between Suwon Samsung and Busan IPark at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
Suwon went ahead through Kim Do-yeon’s penalty in the 34th minute and extended their lead with Kang Hyun-mook’s goal in the 11th minute of the second half. However, Busan fought back with Kim Hee-seung’s goal in the 27th minute and an own goal three minutes later to level the score. The match was decided when Hayes converted a penalty during stoppage time, giving Suwon a hard-fought 3-2 win. This result ended Busan’s unbeaten run and allowed Suwon to draw level with league leaders Busan on 22 points.
