Provincial Government Launches Export Initiative as Regional Businesses Face Growing Challenges
As prolonged conflicts in Middle Eastern regions continue to create obstacles for local enterprises, South Chungcheong Province has stepped forward to help companies expand into international markets.
The provincial administration organized a major trade consultation event on the 23rd at Splasium Resort in Yesan, bringing together international buyers with regional small and medium-sized enterprises.
Event Structure and Participation
This five-day business matching event was designed to strengthen export capabilities of local companies. The province leveraged its network of seven overseas offices across America, China, Japan, Germany, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia, along with four international trade advisors stationed in Australia, Mexico, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, to identify and invite qualified buyers.
A total of 100 international purchasing companies participated, including 16 from the United States, 15 each from China and Indonesia, 14 from Vietnam, 13 from Japan, 11 from India, and 7 from Germany.
Product categories represented included food items (41 companies), cosmetics (19), consumer goods (13), industrial materials (10), agricultural products (5), and automotive components (3).
Local Business Representation
From the provincial side, 250 local businesses participated, representing food production (91 companies), processed goods (37), consumer products (34), cosmetics (30), and industrial materials (20).
Companies engaged in one-on-one consultations with international buyers to explore distribution channels and partnership opportunities.
Support Infrastructure
To maximize outcomes, the provincial government conducted advance analysis of buyer requirements and company capabilities to create optimal matching arrangements. Each international buyer was assigned a dedicated interpreter for seamless communication.
Additionally, coordinators and export specialists were stationed on-site to provide immediate assistance with complex customs procedures and contract negotiations through a comprehensive one-stop support system.
Provincial Leadership Message
The provincial governor addressed international buyers, highlighting that South Chungcheong stands as the nation’s premier trading hub and business-friendly region, with global competitiveness spanning semiconductors, automotive, food, cosmetics, consumer goods, and industrial materials.
He emphasized the province’s strategic location connecting the capital region with southern areas, serving as a transportation hub and key maritime logistics center along the west coast.
