블랙핑크 리사, 북중미 월드컵 개막식 무대 오른다

A major announcement has confirmed that Lisa, the globally recognized member of BLACKPINK, has finalized an agreement with FIFA to headline one of the opening ceremonies for the upcoming 2026 World Cup tournament.

The highly anticipated football championship will be jointly hosted across three nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Because of this unique tri-country arrangement, each host nation will organize its own separate opening celebration.

According to recent reports, Lisa is scheduled to appear at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, delivering her performance ahead of the match between the United States and Paraguay. Joining her on stage will be renowned international performers including pop superstar Katy Perry and DJ Sanjoy.

Meanwhile, the Canadian opening event in Toronto will feature artists such as Michael Bublé and Alessia Cara. Over in Mexico, the legendary rock group Maná is expected to take the stage at Azteca Stadium.

The opening performances are planned to run approximately 13 minutes in both the U.S. and Canada, while Mexico’s ceremony will extend slightly longer to around 16 minutes and 30 seconds.

This marks another significant milestone for Korean pop music on the world’s biggest sporting stage. Previously, Jungkook from BTS made headlines by performing the official anthem “Dreamers” during the opening ceremony of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Now, Lisa is poised to make history as the first female Korean solo artist to grace the World Cup opening ceremony, further cementing K-pop’s global influence.
