Hwang Hee-chan’s Agency Denies Recent Allegations

The management company representing Hwang Hee-chan has firmly rejected claims of misconduct that surfaced in recent media reports.

On the 12th, Be The HC, the agency managing the footballer, issued a statement declaring that “the circulated reports contain absolutely no truth” and accused outlets of spreading false information.

What Were the Claims?

Media outlet Dispatch had published allegations suggesting Hwang abused his position when dealing with a protocol service provider. The report claimed incidents included abandoning a broken-down vehicle on the roadside and failing to settle payment. Additional accusations stated the company was pressured into handling excessive requests, including attendance at family events.

The Agency’s Response

The management team announced plans to “vigorously pursue legal action against malicious falsehoods” and attempts to exploit their client.

Regarding the vehicle incident: The agency stated they made every effort to position the car safely on the shoulder, remained at the scene for approximately 15 minutes, communicated all details thoroughly, and waited further at a nearby restaurant. They emphasized doing their best under sudden breakdown circumstances and noted insufficient guidance from the service provider about vehicle precautions.

Concerning Hwang Hee-jung (agency representative): The company clarified that vehicle usage was proposed by the service provider, not requested by them. When an accident occurred, they provided full details, apologized respectfully, and asked to be informed of any compensation needed. According to the agency, the provider responded “it’s fine” and made no further claims.

On abuse-of-power accusations: The agency countered that they actually spent significantly more on hosting the service company through meals, gifts, and match tickets. They denied requesting protocol services for family gatherings, stating staff attended despite being declined and performed duties voluntarily.

Challenges on the Field

Meanwhile, Hwang faces difficulties in his professional performance. Wolverhampton Wanderers has secured only one victory in 26 league matches this season, making relegation to the second division highly likely. Hwang himself has scored just twice in 20 appearances. He started in the match on the 7th but sustained an injury late in the first half, requiring several weeks of recovery.
